CALLOWAY COUNTY 4-H PET SHOW

RULES:
- Only youth of Calloway County between the ages of 4 and 19 will be allowed to participate.
- All pets shown should be the child's actual pet.
- The child should take part in the grooming and preparation of the pet for the show.
- All pets must be on a leash or otherwise restrained at all times.
- All youth will also have opportunity to show a pet in a Showmanship Class.
- Cloverbuds (under 9)
- Junior (9 to 13 year old youth)
- Senior (14 to 19 year old youth)
- Animals competing will be assigned to one of the following CLASSES:
- Purebred dogs
- Mixed breed dogs
- Purebred cats
- Mixed breed cats
- Small farm animals (chickens, rabbits, ducks, geese, etc.)
- Caged pets (hamsters, reptiles, ferrets, guinea pigs, etc.)
- Large animals ( lama, pigs, zebra etc. with no other show opportunity)
- Costume Class - Youth and/or pets may be costume
- Best of Pet Show (judged on grooming, stance, etc., of both pet and owner)
- Classes may be split at the discretion of the judge.
- All animals should be deemed in good health by owner and veterinarian. Dogs and cats must have current health records of rabies vaccines. Puppies should not be younger than 4 months old.
- Youth are responsible for the clean up of their pets' droppings. Please be prepared.
- Youth and their dogs will be asked to complete basic obedience skills in classes 1 and 2.
GENERAL NOTICE:
- This is an amateur, not a professional competition. We hope that the children and youth involved will derive satisfaction and increased confidence in themselves from their accomplishments.
- Ribbons will be given to all participants.
- Prize money will be distributed by the Danish System. If Prize money exceeds $150, then x will be re-established and corrected no to exceed the prize money allotted. Blue-$5, Red-$4, White-$3.
- Participants (and anyone attending with the participant) will
be charged fair admission at $10.00 per person, but will not be charged an
entry fee for the show. If participants pre-register by no later than
Tuesday, May 27th the fair admission fee will be waived for the participant
and he/she will only be charged $1.00 per class. If a pre-registered
participant chooses to enter other parts of the fair he/she will be charged
the $10.00 admission fee.
