Karaoke Contest

Registration Begins: 6:00 p.m.
Contest Begins: 6:30 p.m.
Location: Market/Show Barn
 
  1. Anyone who pays the general entrance fee ($10.00) for the evening portion of the fair can participate.

  2. The Calloway County 4-H Council will provide songs that you may sing, or you can provide your own music.  **Any song that is sung needs to be crowd appropriate for a general audience.**

  3. Overall, there will $50 in cash that will be divided and awarded throughout the contest based on certain criteria.  Currently, additional sponsorship is being sought to increase the final jackpot awards.

  4. There will be a panel of three judges for the contest, and all decisions will be final.

  5. There will be a designated time keeper for the first round.

  6. Rules for the contest are as follows:

  Round 1:
 
  • Open to all

  • Each person will be allotted 2 minutes—from the first word—to sing (time keeper will be present).

  • Judges will use scorecards to determine those who will advance to the next round.

 

Round 2:

  • Top 15 people from the first round will advance.  Each will receive a $1 prize.

  • Participant must choose a song (not sung in the first round) between 3-4 minutes long.

  • Judges will use scorecards to determine those who will advance to the next round.

 

Round 3:

  • Top 3 contestants from the second round will advance to the finals.  Each will receive a $5 prize.

  • Contestants must choose a song (not sung in the previous two rounds) with no time limit.

  • Winners will be determined by audience applause.  In the event of a tie, the judges will make the final call.

  • Prizes will be awarded as follows: $10 for first place, $6 for second place, and $4 for third place.
