• The Danish System will be used.
• Calloway County Youth Participating in the Country Ham Project in 2010-2011 may give speech in preparation for the State Fair Competition in August at the Kentucky State Fair.
• Cloverbuds (under 9 years of age) will give a 1 to 3 minute speech.
• Youth 9 to 13 will give a 3 to 5 minute speech.
• Youth 14 to 19 will give a 5 to 7 minute speech.
• Contents of the speech must include process of curing the ham.
• Youth will be judged on content, voice quality, expression, knowledge of subject, interest and eye contact.
• The State Fair Scoring Guide will be used.
• Decisions of the judges are final and changes to the contest may occur if the contest committee deems necessary.

  Participants that pre-register will receive a 4-H participant pass to enter the event.  Anyone attending with the participant will be charged fair admission at $10.00 per person.  Additionally, if the participant wishes to enter other areas of the fair and/or ride carnival rides he/she must pay fair admission.
