4 –H Petroleum Power OPEN and 4–H TRACTOR DRIVING CONTEST

Event Starts 7:00 p.m.
Location – Main Arena
- See General Rules applying to all 4–H Exhibitors, 4–H demonstrations, and judging events.
- Two district winners in each of the two divisions (2 Juniors and 2
Seniors) are allowed.
- In case of electrical storms, the driving part of this contest may be delayed up to a maximum of two hours. If at that time it is determined that cancellation is necessary, placing will be determined by written test scores and parts identification. The driving part of this event will not be rescheduled on any other date. In the event of a tie in the senior division, the oldest 4–H’er will be selected.
- Participants must be age 12 as of January 1 of the current year.
- The 4-H Tractor Operators Contest will be conducted according to the
rules, driving course and score sheets as set forth in the 4-H Guide
"Instructions for the Kentucky 4-H Tractor Driving Contest". To drive
in the contest the participant must be of sufficient size to safely operate
all foot and hand controls from the operator's seat with the seatbelt
fastened and properly adjusted.
- The event consists of the following parts:
- Junior Division (12-13) – written quiz over Units I & II and two wheel driving
- Senior Division (14-19) – written quiz over Units I & II, and supplemental 4 –H Tractor information (mailed to each 4 –H Extension Agent) in addition to driving two and four wheel trailer.
- Adult Division (20 & Older) – same as Senior Division
Ribbons only will be awarded (No prize money given this year).
Participants
that pre-register will receive a 4-H participant pass to enter the event.
Anyone attending with the participant will be charged fair admission at
$10.00 per person. Additionally, if the participant wishes to enter other
areas of the fair and/or ride carnival rides he/she must pay fair admission.
